Mandi (Himachal Pradesh): The National Highway, which was closed at around 1 am due to a landslide on Mandi Pandoh road, has been reopened after 9 hours of hard work. When the landslide occurred on the Chandigarh Manali National Highway at night, a Thar car carrying tourists from Punjab got stuck. In the morning, the debris was cleared using a JCB machine, and the Thar, with a father and son inside, was safely removed.
As a result of the highway closure, there were long lines of vehicles and the entire highway was jammed. The administration issued an advisory about the landslide and informed people about the highway closure, recommending alternative routes for travel. In this monsoon season, landslides have occurred more than 10 times near 9 Mile, causing the highway to remain closed for several hours. Similarly, the highway has been closed multiple times near 4 Mile and 6 Mile.
