Kangra: Chief Minister Thakur Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu today inspected the under-construction Dadasiba Civil Hospital under the Jaswan Pragpur Assembly Constituency of Kangra district and gave the officials the necessary directions. He asked the Public Works Department to ensure quality in the construction work. The Chief Minister said that in the first phase, this hospital is being built with 50 beds, and in the second phase, its capacity will be increased to 100 beds.
He said that this is the main government health institution in the Jaswan area and provides services to the people of this area, so the deficiencies in the hospital will be removed. He said that about 50 percent of the construction of the hospital has been completed, and Rs 3.61 crore is required to complete the remaining construction work, which the state government will provide soon.
Along with this, specialist doctors in gynaecology, orthopaedics, surgery, and anaesthesia, as well as lab technicians, will also be deployed here. He said that the state government will make Dadasiba Hospital an ideal health institution.
The Chief Minister said that the construction work at Dadasiba Civil Hospital has been going on at a slow pace for the last five years, and there is a need to speed it up. He said that the state government is giving special preference to providing better facilities in all the health institutions of the state, and positive steps are being taken in this direction. He said that in the recently held State Cabinet meeting, it was decided to fill 200 posts of medical officers in the Health and Family Welfare Department.
In addition, 22 posts of professor, associate professor, and assistant professor will be filled in various medical colleges in the state. He said that the state government is also making efforts to improve emergency health services. The Chief Minister said that eight posts of Emergency Medical Officer will be filled at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medical College, Tanda. Also, five posts of Assistant Professor will be filled at Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru Medical College Chamba, so that trauma centers can be made functional in these two medical colleges and facilities can be provided to the people.
