Shimla: The ninth governing council meeting of NITI Aayog has started in Delhi under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Himachal CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is among those CMs who have boycotted it. BJP leaders have launched a scathing verbal attack on Chief Minister Sukhu over this.
CM Sukhu has reached Delhi yesterday but he did not attend the NITI Aayog meeting, because most of the parties of the INDIA bloc have announced to boycott the NITI Aayog meeting.
Meanwhile, politics has started in the state over this. Leader of Opposition Jairam Thakur and former Union Minister Anurag Thakur have also targeted the Chief Minister’s decision to boycott the NITI Aayog meeting. He said this decision of the Chief Minister is tampering with the interests of Himachalis.
Anurag Thakur said, Prime Minister Modi considers Himachal as his second home. He has given priority to the interests of Himachal, but the Congress has always done petty politics. Anurag said the Chief Minister’s decision not to attend the NITI Aayog meeting is not only unfortunate but also extremely condemnable.
This politically motivated decision of the Chief Minister is a direct interference with the interests of Himachal Pradesh. The Chief Minister should reconsider his decision and attend the meeting in the interest of the state. Before Anurag, Jairam Thakur has also verbally attacked Sukhwinder Sukhu on this issue.
