Shimla: Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu today laid the foundation stone of four developmental projects for Nadaun assembly constituency of Hamirpur district.

He laid the foundation stone of a project to be built at a cost of Rs 44.66 crores to provide 24-hour drinking water facility to Nadaun city. The Chief Minister said that the construction work of this project will be completed before summer this year, which will provide 24-hour drinking water supply facility to the residents of all the seven wards of Nagar Panchayat Nadaun.

He said that state-of-the-art UV filter technology will be used in this scheme. Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu also laid the foundation stone of Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation hotel to be built in Nadaun at a cost of Rs 43.06 crore, which is targeted to be built by July 2025.

He said that this hotel will prove to be a milestone in providing facilities to the tourists.  The skill center will be ready by June 2025. Talking to reporters, the Chief Minister said that BJP was working with anti-Himachal viewpoint and had failed to play the role of positive opposition.

He said that no BJP MP met Prime Minister Narendra Modi or other central leaders to seek financial help for the disaster-affected Himachal Pradesh. Not only this, as per the rules, the state government has sent claims worth about Rs 9700 crore to the central government, which Himachal Pradesh should have received in December, but BJP leaders are creating hurdles in releasing this amount.

He appealed to the BJP leaders not to create obstacles in the financial assistance being provided to Himachal Pradesh and also not to make false claims of getting special financial assistance from the Centre. He said that if the Central Government has given any special economic package to Himachal Pradesh in connection with the disaster, then BJP leaders should inform about it.
