Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu met the Patwaris and Kanungos who were on strike for 11 days on Saturday during his Kangra tour. Chief Minister Sukhu said in clear words that the decision to create a state cadre will not be rolled back. But it will be ensured that no one’s promotion is affected due to the state cadre.
The Chief Minister appealed to the Patwari Kanungo to return to work and said that he will hold a meeting with them in April after the budget session. In this, suggestions will be taken from the Patwari Kanungo. He said that to ensure that no one’s promotion is affected, if it is necessary to keep them in the district establishment, then that will also be considered.
Government is ready to improve the notification: CM
On the notification of withdrawing the state cadre of Patwari Kanungo, the Chief Minister said that if the government starts withdrawing the notification then what will be its meaning. He said that the notification will be corrected.
During this, Patwari Kanungo said that the employees in smaller districts whose promotion is due in the next one or two months, will not be able to get promoted due to the formation of a state cadre.
4000 Patwari-Kanungo are on strike for 11 days
Let us tell you that last month the state government made Patwari-Kanungo a state cadre. In protest against this, more than 4000 Patwari-Kanungo of the state are on strike since February 25. Due to this, thousands of people are facing problems.

The Patwari-Kanungo circle offices are locked. Many works like demarcation, transfer, partition of people are not being done. Students are not getting various types of certificates for counseling, admission and competitive examinations. At the same time, Patwari Kanungo is also not ready to return from the strike until the demands are met.
