Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu reached the China border at Shipki-La in Kinnaur district. He laid the foundation stone of the border forest park here. After this, he addressed the local public, army and ITBP officers and soldiers.
The Chief Minister emphasized the strategic importance of Shipki-La and filled the soldiers and paramilitary forces with enthusiasm with slogans of Bharat Mata Ki Jai. The Chief Minister also went to Indira Point in Shipki-La and took stock of the border.
Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu is the second Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh to reach this place. The country’s Prime Minister Indira Gandhi came here in 1968 with Himachal Chief Minister Yashwant Singh Parmar. At that time there was no road to reach Shipki-La.
