Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Monday unveiled the statue of Baba Saheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar on his visit to Hamirpur especially on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Constitution maker Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar. On this occasion, the Chief Minister inaugurated 8 different works in Hamirpur district including Hamirpur assembly constituency.
MLA Suresh Kumar, MLA Captain Ranjit Rana, Political Advisor to the Chief Minister Sunil Sharma Bittu, Chairman of Kangra Central Cooperative Bank Kuldeep Pathania, current Congress District President Suman Bharti and other dignitaries were present with the Chief Minister. On reaching the Deputy Commissioner’s office premises, the Chief Minister was warmly welcomed by the local people as well as Congress workers.
The Chief Minister congratulated the people on the occasion of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar’s birth anniversary and said that today the people are remembering the Constitution maker of the country and his statue was unveiled in the Hamirpur Deputy Commissioner’s office. He said that Baba Saheb had played an important role in framing the Constitution of the country and today everyone is remembering him. He said that today we should take a pledge that everyone should come forward to protect the Constitution made by Baba Saheb.
The Chief Minister said that two departments are going to be started soon in Dr. Radhakrishnan Medical College Hamirpur, which will provide relief to the public in getting treatment for kidney-related diseases. He said that the department of Neuro is also going to function soon in the medical college, which will be announced in the upcoming cabinet meeting.
He said that the first cancer institute of the state will be established in Hamirpur itself, which will be the largest institute in North India, for which Rs 85 crore has been approved. He said that soon a policy will be prepared after meeting with the heads of all the medical college institutions of the state and discussing strengthening medical facilities in the state. He also said that permission has been granted for the furniture of Medical College Hamirpur and soon the work of the medical college will also be completed.
