CM Sukhu’s meeting with party’s top brass; discussion likely on ticket distribution ahead of by-polls

Voting is to be held on July 10 in Nalagarh, Hamirpur and Dehra assembly seats in the state Himachal Pradesh

Shimla: There will be brainstorming in Delhi today on the Congress ticket distribution for the by-election on 3 assembly seats of Himachal Pradesh. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu has left for Delhi today to discuss with the party top brass.

Voting is to be held on July 10 in Nalagarh, Hamirpur and Dehra assembly seats in the state Himachal Pradesh. For this, the nomination process will start from today and can be filled till June 21. The Bharatiya Janata Party has fielded candidates on all three seats, while the Congress ticket may be finalized in the next one or two days.

Congress may give ticket to Sunil Sharma (Bittu), political advisor of Chief Minister Sukhu, from Hamirpur. Dr. Pushpendra Verma, who was the party candidate from this seat in the 2022 assembly elections, is also in the race of ticket contenders. The name of Bava Hardeep in Nalagarh and Dr. Rajesh in Dehra is considered to be ahead.

Among the ticket seekers in Dehra, KCC Bank director Chaudhary Sunil Kashyap, Kamgar Board chairman Nardev Kanwar and former DGM Satish Thakur are also in the race for ticket.

Elections on July 10

By-elections will be held on three assembly seats in Himachal Pradesh on July 10. For this, the Election Department will issue a notification today. Voting will be held on 10th and results will be declared on 13th July.
