CM Sukhvinder Sukhu flags off a 13-day tour of “Children Of State” in Shimla

These 22 children were sent on a tour to Chandigarh, Delhi, Agra and Goa under this scheme.

Shimla: Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu flagged off the first group of 22 ‘Children of the State’ on a 13-day tour. The Chief Minister flagged off the Volvo bus of the children and wished them all the best for this tour. The Chief Minister said that the present State Government has adopted 6000 orphan children of the State as ‘Children of the State’ by making a law. To ensure their welfare, the Chief Minister Sukh Ashray Yojana has been implemented, under which provisions have been made to take care of orphan children, provide them with education, and make them self-reliant. These 22 children were sent on a tour to Chandigarh, Delhi, Agra and Goa under this scheme.

Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the 22 children who went on the tour include 16 girls and 6 boys. He informed that these children will visit Chandigarh from 2 January to 4 January and will stay at Himachal Bhawan Chandigarh. After this, on 5 January, they will go to Delhi by Shatabdi train and will stay in Delhi till 8 January and will visit various historical places there.

He said that on January 9, the Children of the State will leave for Goa by plane and will stay in a three-star hotel in Goa till January 13 and will visit various tourist and historical places there. He said that on January 14, all these children will reach Chandigarh from Goa by plane.

The Chief Minister said that these orphan children have rights over the wealth of Himachal. He said that just as we go on a trip with our family members, the state government has sent them on a trip. He said that traveling increases knowledge and children will benefit from it in the future. He said that these children will make an important contribution in the service of the country in the future.

Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. (Colonel) Dhani Ram Shandil said that this is a commendable initiative of the state government and the state government is taking care of the orphan children. Earlier, there was no hearing of these children, but now the present state government is taking care of their every need like a family. On this occasion, Agriculture Minister Prof. Chandra Kumar, Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania, MLA Harish Janartha, Mayor of Shimla Municipal Corporation Surendra Chauhan, Principal Advisor (Media) to the Chief Minister Naresh Chauhan, Deputy Commissioner Anupam Kashyap were present.
