Cold wave alert in 5 districts of Himachal, snowfall likely after January 3

The Meteorological Department (IMD) Center Shimla has issued an orange alert of cold-wave in 5 districts

Shimla: After snowfall in Himachal Pradesh, the weather has become pleasant. Days after snowfall, weather will remain clear and pleasant for the next few days. The weather will be clear even on New Year’s Eve. But during this time, cold wave will trouble people in the plains of the state.

The Meteorological Department (IMD) Center Shimla has issued an orange alert of cold-wave in 5 districts Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Chamba and Mandi districts and a yellow alert in Kullu, Kangra and Shimla districts for the next 72 hours i.e. 3 days. These districts will experience severe cold during night and morning. In view of this, people have been advised to take precautions.

If IMD is to be believed, the weather will change again in the new year due to Western Disturbance becoming active on the night of January 2. This may cause light snowfall in high-altitude areas. There is a forecast of good rain and snowfall in medium-altitude areas on January 3 and in most parts of the state on January 4.
