CU Dharamshala marked for Centre of Excellence, 8 crore grant expected under the project

Dharamshala: Central University Himachal Pradesh has been identified as the Center of Excellence. Under the Center of Excellence, CU is likely to get a grant of about Rs 8 crore under the project. CU HP has been identified for the Center of Excellence on the basis of the presentation presented on the tribal subject.

It is worth noting that after making CU HP an A Plus University, the target was set to convert this institute into a research university, due to which the institute focused on research. The institute is continuously getting projects, in the last two years CU has received projects worth about 8 crores. The institute is also moving towards the internationalization of CU. Patents of CU are increasing in research, so far CU has got 8 patents in the subject of tourism, while patents are increasing in other subjects.

The Union Panchayati Raj and Education Ministry together had sought proposals from 16 central universities across the country on the subject of tribal and education, what new can be done in the tribal area.

In this regard, CU HP has also sent a proposal. Based on the first screening of these proposals, 8 universities were identified, while based on the second screening, 4 universities have been identified for Centre of Excellence.
