Shimla: Himachal Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu and party state president Pratibha Singh will present the report of Lok Sabha and assembly by-elections in the Congress Working Committee (CWC) meeting in Delhi today. Congress has called the CWC after the results of the Lok Sabha elections. For this, Pratibha Singh left for Delhi yesterday, while Chief Minister Sukhu will reach Delhi by noon.
Congress has definitely suffered a crushing defeat on all four Lok Sabha seats in the state. But this time the vote bank of Congress has increased compared to the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. In the year 2019, the Bharatiya Janata Party got 69.11% and Congress got only 27.30% votes. This time BJP got about 56.29% and Congress got 41.57% votes. In this respect, the performance of Congress is better than the last election.
At the same time, Congress has also performed brilliantly in the assembly by-elections held on six seats. By winning four assembly seats, Congress has given a jolt to BJP’s dream of forming government in Himachal on June 4. This has also averted a political crisis on the Congress government. The CM and the party state president will also present the report of these by-elections in the CWC.
Strategy will be made to win 3 by-elections
After six by-elections in Himachal, by-elections are also scheduled in three assembly seats Hamirpur, Nalagarh and Dehra. The Central Election Commission can announce by-elections anytime. The strategy to win these elections in the CWC and the party high command can give guidelines to the state Congress regarding this.
These leaders will be included in the CWC
Congress national president Mallikarjun Kharge, Sonia Gandhi, Rahul Gandhi, Priyanka Gandhi will also be present in the CWC to be held in Delhi. In this, electoral feedback will be taken from Congressmen of Himachal as well as other states.
