Two officer suspends over EVM tampering in Himachal

Himachal Pradesh: On the other hand, in Gagret, Una, DC suspended Presiding Officer Rakesh Kumar and Sector Officer Govind Kaushal. Both the officers installed the EVM machine of the Lok Sabha election in place of the assembly by-election. While the EVM machine of by-election was installed in place of the Lok Sabha machine.

Local people arrived in traditional dress to vote at Tashigang, the world’s highest polling station in Lahaul Spiti. A total of 49 votes were cast at Tashigang polling station till 3 pm. In this, 28 male and 21 female voters cast their votes.

Voting is also going on for by-elections on 6 assembly seats. Till 3 pm, 60.20% voting has been done in Kutlehar, 53.98% in Dharamshala, 47% in Barsar, 67.08% in Lahaul Spiti, 56.78% in Gagret and 56.85% in Sujanpur.

In Gagret, Una, DC suspended Presiding Officer Rakesh Kumar and Sector Officer Govind Kaushal for negligence in duty. Both the officers installed the EVM machine of Lok Sabha elections for the assembly by-election and the machine of by-election for the Lok Sabha election. By the time this was revealed, about 50 people had already cast their votes.

Una DC claimed that all those who had cast their votes in the second EVM in the morning have been allowed to cast their votes again.
