Dense fog alert in 7 districts of Himachal, heavy snowfall on 5th and 6th January

According to IMD, light snowfall may occur on the high peaks of the Chamba, Kinnaur, Kullu and Lahaul Spiti districts today and tomorrow.

The weather will change again in Himachal Pradesh. The Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an alert of dense fog in 7 districts today. According to IMD, Western Disturbance (WD) is becoming active from today. It will have a partial effect today and tomorrow and light rain and snowfall may occur only in high-altitude areas. It will be stronger on the night of January 4. Due to this, heavy rain and snowfall are forecast on January 5 and 6.

According to IMD, light snowfall may occur on the high peaks of the Chamba, Kinnaur, Kullu and Lahaul Spiti districts today and tomorrow. Snowfall may also occur on the high peaks of Shimla, Kangra, and Mandi along with these districts on January 5 and 6.

At the same time, the average minimum temperature of the state has become 1.8 degrees more than normal. That is, there is severe cold in high areas, while the temperature in medium-altitude areas has become much higher than normal. The minimum temperature of Shimla has increased to 7.6 degrees after 4.5 degrees more than normal.

Similarly, the minimum temperature of Dalhousie has increased to 8.8 degrees with a jump of 5.9 degrees more than normal, Bilaspur has increased to 7.7 degrees after a jump of 3.3 degrees, Manali has increased to 2.4 degrees Celsius after a jump of 3.7 degrees more than normal.

The average maximum temperature of the state has also increased by 2 degrees more than normal. The maximum temperature of Manali has increased by the maximum of 6.1 degrees and the temperature of Manali has reached 16.5 degrees Celsius.

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert of dense fog in 7 districts. According to IMD, dense fog may occur at many places in Una, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Kangra, Mandi, Solan and Sirmaur districts. Due to fog, visibility can drop to 50 meters and this can cause accidents. In view of this, drivers have been advised to be cautious.
