Devotees are arriving from different states of the country for the religious Shrikhand Yatra. But this journey has not started officially yet. In view of this, the local administration has sent back more than 140 devotees. No one is being allowed to go to Shrikhand right now.
SDM Nirmand Manmohan said that during the last one and a half week, two devotees and one local person have died. Among them, one devotee was from Haryana, the second was from Bulandshahr in UP and the third was a local person.
In view of this, the administration has decided that no devotee will be allowed to go to Shrikhand. He told that most of the devotees who were sent back were non-Himachali i.e. came from other states.
The journey will officially start from July 14
The SDM said that officially the journey will run from 14 to 27 July. Special security arrangements are being made for this journey. Therefore, no one will be allowed to go to Shrikhand before the official journey.
The most difficult religious journey in the world
The Shrikhand Yatra is considered to be the most difficult religious journey in the world. To reach a height of 18,570 feet, devotees have to travel 32 kilometers on foot through glaciers, high mountains, narrow paths. There is a fear of accident all the time. There are some areas ahead of Parvati Bagh where there is also a shortage of oxygen. In such a situation, if the devotees are not treated or brought down in time, then there is a fear of accident. Due to this, many devotees are forced to return without having darshan of Bhole.
Base camps are being built at five places to make the journey easier
The SDM said that to make the journey easier, the Shrikhand Trust Committee and the district administration are building base camps at five places. In the first phase, a base camp is being built in Singhagad. Apart from this, base camps will also be built in Thachdu, Kunsha, Bhimdwar and Parvati Bagh. In this, apart from the Sector Magistrate and the Police Officer / In-charge with him, medical staff and rescue teams will also be deployed.
For the first time, a unit of rescue team SDRF will be deployed
For the first time in this yatra, a unit of rescue team SDRF will be deployed in Parvati Bagh, because due to the narrow and dangerous path, many unwanted accidents keep happening during this yatra. This yatra is especially disrupted due to rain.
Portal created for online registration
An online registration portal has been created for devotees coming from outside states. No devotee will be sent to Shrikhand without registration.
Devotees from all over the country reach Shrikhand
Apart from Himachal, a large number of devotees from every corner of the country and Nepal also reach for darshan in Shrikhand Yatra. Therefore, it will be challenging for the district administration and Shrikhand Trust to ensure the safety of people’s lives.
