Kullu: Himachal Pradesh Police Department DGP Sanjay Kundu has not been removed by the government but has been promoted. He has now been appointed as Principal Secretary of AYUSH Department from the post of DGP.
State Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, who reached Manali informed about this decision. Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh said that the DGP is a person of honest image and has served Himachal Pradesh for about 35 years. In such a case, his name has come up and a decision in this regard was also taken by the High Court.
Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh said that the High Court had said that he should not influence this matter anywhere. Therefore, he was asked to be removed from the post of DGP but now the state government has appointed him to the post of Principal Secretary of AYUSH Department and promoted him.
It should be noted that in the case of businessman Nishant, the High Court had issued instructions regarding the removal of DGP Sanjay Kundu and SP of Kangra district. In such a situation, on Tuesday morning the state government has shifted DGP Sanjay Kundu from the police department to the post of Chief Secretary in the AYUSH department.
