Shimla: Earthquake tremors were felt in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu last night. Its intensity was measured 3 on Richter scale. There is no report of any loss of life or property.
People who felt the tremors came out of their houses at night itself. These tremors were felt on Thursday night at 3:39 am.
Know why earthquakes occur?
The surface of the earth is mainly made up of 7 big and many small tectonic plates. These plates keep floating continuously and sometimes collide with each other.
Due to collision, sometimes the corners of the plates get bent and when there is more pressure, these plates start breaking. In such a situation, the energy coming out from below finds a way to come out and after this disturbance an earthquake occurs.
From the earthquake point of view, Kullu district comes in the highly sensitive zone 5. Earthquakes keep occurring here again and again.
