Keylong: Even before the entry of the monsoon in the state, a flood situation is being seen in the state. Due to the rain on Monday morning in Lahaul-Spiti, the Madgran drain in Udaipur has flooded. The debris that came with the flood was completely scattered on the Udaipur-Tandi road.
In such a situation, the movement of vehicles on both sides of the road remained halted for ten hours. As soon as the information was received, the BRO took charge of the road and started the work of removing the debris. After a lot of hard work, the road was opened for vehicles.
On the other hand, the administration had stopped the vehicles given the condition of the road, but after restoration, vehicles have been allowed to move. According to the information, glaciers are melting rapidly due to increasing temperatures, due to which the water level in the drain suddenly increased.
A large amount of debris and stones accumulated on the road, along with water in the drain. On the other hand, the administration warned the tourists to travel in the valley, keeping in mind the weather, and to stay away from rivers and streams so that no untoward incident takes place.
Lahaul SP Mayank Chaudhary said that the road has been restored now.
Police personnel have been deployed at various places. He has advised the tourists not to travel when the weather is bad.
