Shimla, April 20: A fire broke out in Saraswati Vidya Mandir School located in Vikas Nagar, Shimla, the capital of Himachal Pradesh. This incident occurred between 2 and 3 o’clock on Saturday night. Many rooms of the school were burnt in the fire. Due to which the school has suffered a loss of lakhs of rupees. Rajya Sabha MP Sikandar Kumar reached the spot and took stock of the incident.
According to the information, a fire suddenly broke out on the top floor of the school around 2 o’clock at night, and the flames spread rapidly. Due to which there was an atmosphere of panic in the neighbourhood and people gathered.
The cause of the fire was not known
People informed the fire department about this. After which, the fire department reached the spot and, with the help of local people, the fire was brought under control after a lot of hard work. At present, the cause of the fire has not been ascertained. The local administration is investigating the matter.
MP announced to give 5 lakh rupees
After the fire incident, Rajya Sabha MP Sikandar Kumar reached the spot. He inspected the place and claimed that the loss is more than Rs 5 crore. He appeals to all the people for help.
He said that it is an educational institution. The government and administration should also come forward to help. For this, he personally announces to give Rs 5 lakh from the MP fund. And will help more in the future.
