Rampur, May 25: There has been heavy damage due to the flooding of two drains in Jagatkhana of Kullu. Revenue Minister Jagat Singh Negi visited the spot today. He said that the flood has caused a loss of about Rs 60 lakh.
Giving information about the damage, the minister said that 9 vehicles have been completely damaged. 13 vehicles have suffered partial damage. Apart from this, goods kept in 9 houses and 5 shops have also been affected.
The road has been restored for traffic. Machinery is being called to remove the vehicles stuck in the debris. The sub-divisional magistrate has been instructed to call the representatives of the insurance agency to the spot and assess the damage to the vehicles.

The affected people met the minister and explained their problems and demanded government assistance. The minister assured that the government will compensate for the loss of houses. Help will be provided by insurance companies for the loss of vehicles.
The minister appealed to the people not to throw garbage in rivers and drains. He said that garbage obstructs the flow of water, which leads to flooding during heavy rains.
During this, Sub-Divisional Magistrate Nirmand Manmohan Singh, Sub-Divisional Police Officer Ani Chandrashekhar, Naib Tehsildar Rampur Suresh Negi and party official Pratap Negi were also present.
