Shimla: The Food Ministry of India has made a provision for the One Nation, One Ration Card (ONORC) scheme across the country under the National Food Security Act. Under this scheme, now migrant workers living in urban areas and areas around it across the state will be able to go to fair price shops and get ration in the same way as about 18.5 lakh ration card consumers of the state take ration every month. Instructions have been issued in this regard by the Department of Food, Civil Supplies, and Consumer Affairs.
Under these orders, migrants living in all the districts will now be able to go to the depots every month and get ration by carrying their Aadhar card or ration card. In fact, during the Corona epidemic in the year 2020, the biggest problem for migrant workers living in many parts of the country was food security.
After that, it was decided by the Food Ministry that no citizen of the country should remain deprived of food under any circumstances.
