Himachal: Panchayati Raj department mandates GST on family register fee

The applicant can also apply directly online, in which case only the processing fee along with GST and government charges will be applicable.

Shimla: For providing Panchayati Raj services through an e-District application, including a copy of the family register in the state, an additional processing fee of Rs 10 per application and GST will be charged.

Earlier, GST was not charged on the copy of the family register, but the GST Directorate had issued notice for GST to the e-Governance Society.

After which instructions were issued by the department to levy an additional processing fee of Rs 10 per application and GST for providing Panchayati Raj services through the e-District application, including the copy of the family register. A notification regarding the levy of GST has also been issued by the department.

However, no change has been made by the department in the price of copies of other documents, including the family register. Services are being delivered to the people through an online system using the e-District Application of the Himachal Pradesh State Portal.

Filling out application details and uploading requests through the e-District Portal or LMK Portal is Rs 10, and scanning and uploading supporting documents on the portal or e-District Portal is Rs 2 per page.

Apart from this, after the approval of the concerned department, people have to pay Rs 10 per page or a Sugam user fee of Rs 10 per application for printing the final document or certificate. Please note that if the applicant applies at Lokmitra Kendra or Sugam Kendra, then the Lokmitra Kendra user fee or the Sugam user fee will be applicable.

GST of 18 percent will be charged with an income of Rs 10. For GST earned on service charges, the concerned e-governance societies will follow the GST Act and rules.
