Bharmour: For the first time, the presence of Musk deer has been recorded in Wildlife Sanctuary Tudah under Tribal Sub Division Bharmour.
Along with this, brown bears, Himalayan thar, ibex, and Himalayan vultures have also been seen roaming in Tudah and Kugati sanctuaries.
This disclosure has been made in the report of the departmental survey team, which returned from the wildlife census work in Wildlife Sanctuaries Tudah and Kugati. This survey team has also captured the herd of Musk deer, Brown Bear, and Ibex in these sanctuaries on camera. It is worth mentioning that recently, survey teams were sent by Wildlife Board Chamba for wildlife census work in Tudah and Kugati. These teams visited the entire area of Tudanh and Kugati wildlife sanctuaries and gathered information about the wild animals found here. During this time, the team saw brown bears, musk deer, ibex, Himalayan thar, and Himalayan vultures in these sanctuaries. After completing the work, these survey teams submitted the report to the higher officials.
According to the report submitted by these survey teams, six brown bears, 43 Himalayan Thars, 49 Himalayan Ibex, seven Himalayan Monal, three Himalayan vultures, and one fox have been found in Kugati Sanctuary. In the survey report of Tudanh Sanctuary, three brown bears, one musk deer, eight vultures, nine Himalayan monal, and one yellow-toothed marten have been found. On the other hand, Forest Officer Kuldeep Jambal of Wildlife Division Chamba said that for the first time, a musk deer has been captured on camera in the wildlife sanctuary of Chamba district. It is a matter of great relief that the brown bear families are flourishing in Tudah and Kugati sanctuaries.
