Dalhousie: In Gram Panchayat Sudli, under the subdivision, a villager ended his life by shooting himself with a licensed gun in a room of his house. The deceased has been identified as Om Prakash, son of Gandharv Singh, a resident of Kut Post Office Sudli, who is said to be working as an SPO in the police department. The police got the post-mortem done on Sunday and handed over the body to the family. The police have started investigating the detailed reasons by putting the incident report in the diary.
According to the information, Om Prakash was currently working with the police battalion at Seva Bridge in Khairi town, adjacent to the state of Jammu and Kashmir. Last night, Om Prakash shot himself with his licensed 12-bore gun in a room of his house. Hearing the sound of fire in the room, the son present in the house reached the spot and found his father lying in a blood-soaked condition. The Khairi police station received information about the incident immediately. On receiving the information, the police team reached the spot, inspected the scene thoroughly, took the body into custody, and sent it for a postmortem.
The police have also taken the licensed firearm of the deceased into custody. On Sunday, the police completed the paper formalities related to the incident and recorded the family members’ statements. At present, the family members have not expressed any doubt about the death of Om Prakash. The police have taken action in this regard under Section 194 of the BNSS. Meanwhile, SP Chamba Abhishek Yadav has confirmed the incident. He said that further legal action has been taken per the rules regarding the incident at the Khairi police station.
