Chamba Health department raid reveals shopkeeper unable to account for drug recovery

The medical store was sealed for not providing a record of medicines; the department seeks a reply in three days.

Chamba: The Health Department in Chamba district has taken major action and sealed a medical store in Sarol. This action was carried out under the leadership of the Assistant Drug Controller.

The information states that during an inspection of a medicine shop in Sarol Panchayat, the shopkeeper was unable to produce the record of drugs present there.

The shopkeeper was unable to present the record to the Health Department as to how many substances he had and how many were sold. Whereas keeping such a record is necessary as per the rules. Seeing this careless and irresponsible attitude of the medicine seller, the department was forced to take this strict step. The department has directed the concerned shopkeeper to give a written explanation in this regard within the next two to three days.

It is worth noting that cases of illegal smuggling of banned medicines keep coming to the fore in Chamba. In such a situation, people demand from time to time from the Health Department to take strict action against such people. Keeping all these things in mind, the District Health Department Chamba has been seriously active in this matter for some time now. The proof of this can be seen in the form of major action taken against such shops in Churah and Bharmour in the past few days.
