Chamba: The Health Department has raided and sealed a medicine shop in Churah in the Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh. This action of the department has created panic among the operators of illegal shops.
The Health Department has said that this campaign will continue. This is the second case in Churah where an illegally running medicine shop has been sealed.
According to the information, the Health Department team had gone to investigate the medicine shops present in Churah assembly constituency. Then a girl present in a shop closed the shop and ran away. The medicine inspector and the team gathered information about the shopkeeper and called him. When the shopkeeper was asked to show the necessary drug license to sell medicines, the girl running the said shop could not show any such letter. Taking strict cognizance of this, the Health Department sealed the shop. Seeing the action of the health department, the girl fainted after feeling dizzy. He was brought to his senses and told that running a drugstore without a license is a crime.
The health department team informed the concerned Panchayat Pradhan about their investigation process. The Pradhan sent the ward panch to the spot, who later disappeared from there. Seeing the seriousness of the matter, the drug inspector has written a letter to SP Chamba and asked for security arrangements for himself and other team employees during the action or surprise inspection. Along with this, the district administration has been requested to issue orders to the Panchayat representatives to cooperate during such action. So that the government employees can carry out their work without fear.
State Drug Controller Manish Kapoor said that an explanation has been sought from the said drug seller of Churah on the matter of running the shop without a license. On not showing it, the said shop has been sealed. This is the second case in Churah in which an illegally running drugstore has been sealed. He said that the health department will continue such action in the public interest.
