Heavy rain in Shimla, orange alert for eight districts today

Heavy rain was recorded in Himachal Pradesh capital Shimla today. There was torrential rain in the city for some time after around 2:30 pm.

The weather became cool due to rain. The tourists present on the ridge enjoyed the pleasant weather. The weather remains bad in many other parts of the state also.

Yellow alert on May 12 and 13

Today, Orange Alert of thunderstorm and hailstorm has been issued by Meteorological Center Shimla in eight districts of the state. Yellow alert has been issued for rain and thunderstorm at many places on May 12 and 13. The weather is expected to remain clear in the entire state from 14th to 17th May.

The Meteorological Department has today issued an orange alert for rain, thunderstorm and hailstorm for Bilaspur, Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Mandi, Shimla, Solan and Sirmair districts. There is a possibility of snowfall on the peaks. Yellow alert has been issued for Kinnaur, Lahail-Spiti and Hamirpur and Una districts. There is yellow alert in all 12 districts for Sunday and five districts for Monday.

Hailstorm wreaks havoc in Kashapat Valley
On the other hand, hailstorm has wreaked havoc on the gardeners in Kashapat valley of Rampur area. The continuously deteriorating weather patterns have increased the concern of farmers and gardeners.

On Friday late evening, there was hailstorm in Kashapat Panchayat for about two hours. While the hail has ruined the riped crops.

According to gardeners, there was heavy hailstorm on Friday from around 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Gardeners said that the apple crop has been destroyed due to hailstorm.
