Punjab youth arrests in Manali with Heroin

A case has been registered against the youth under the NDPS Act at the Manali police station.

Manali: Heroin has been recovered from a youth from Punjab in the tourist city of Manali. The youth used to sell heroin in grocery shops in Manali. Police raided his room based on secret information, and 62.88 grams of heroin were recovered during the search of the youth’s room.

The police have arrested the youth. DSP Manali KD Sharma confirmed the case and said that the youth arrested with heroin has been identified as 24-year-old Amrit Pal Singh, a resident of Khalra Tehsil Patti District, Tarn Taran, Punjab. A case has been registered against the youth under the NDPS Act at the Manali police station. Further investigation is going on in the case.

He said that the youth lived in a rented room here and used to sell heroin in grocery shops there. 62.88 grams of heroin have been recovered from his possession. He told me that on June 21, the police team was on patrol in the Manali area. During this, information was received that a youth lives in a rented house on Gonpa Road and wants to sell heroin. The police team raided the youth’s room and recovered heroin. The DSP said that this recovery of heroin is the biggest so far in the Manali sub-division. He said that people involved in the drug business will not be spared.
