Himachal: 100 boxes of country liquor recovered, four persons taken into custody

Action is being taken against the accused under the Excise Act.

Bharari police station has seized 100 boxes of country liquor from a pickup jeep. Four people travelling in the vehicle have been detained. The accused were carrying the liquor without any documents. Action is being taken against the accused under the Excise Act.

A team led by police station in-charge Anup Kumar had set up a check post at Bharari on the Dadhol to Ladrour road at around 1:00 pm on Thursday night. Meanwhile, a pickup jeep was stopped. When the tarpaulin on the jeep was removed, boxes of liquor were found. When the four persons travelling in the jeep were asked for documents related to the liquor, they could not produce anything on the spot. The accused were detained. The jeep along with the liquor was taken to the police station. On counting there, 100 boxes of liquor were found.

The accused have been identified as Tej Singh resident of village Amarpur Tehsil Ghumarvi District Bilaspur, Madan Lal resident of village Ser Tehsil Jhanduta District Bilaspur, Sanjeet Shah resident of village Budwa Parli Post Office Shakarpura Tehsil Aloli District, Khagari,a Bihar and Ashok Shah resident of village Bagras Post Office Bakhri District, Begusarai Bihar.

The estimated market price of the recovered liquor is said to be around three lakh rupees. DSP Ghumarvi Chandrapal Singh said that further action is being taken in the case.
