18,925 Anganwadi centres of Himachal Pradesh will be merged with pre-primary schools. Officials have started preparing to implement the budget announcement of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. Anganwadi centres are to be relocated to nearby schools. Children between 3 and 6 years of age will be taken care of in Anganwadi cum Pre Nursery Schools. Pre-nutrition will be made more nutritious in these centres. The power to purchase nutritious food will also be provided at the district level.

In the state, Anganwadi centres and pre-primary schools are currently working separately to take care of children between the ages of three and six years. The purpose of both is to take care of children, so the government has decided to include 18,925 Anganwadi centres in pre-primary schools. With this, while children will be able to get all the facilities through one centre, the budget will also not have to be spent at two different places.

On the instructions of the Central Government, the process of appointing 6,200 Aayas for Anganwadi cum Pre Nursery Schools has also started. Apart from this, 6,200 teachers are also to be recruited. The workers and assistants working in Anganwadi centers will also be appointed in Anganwadi cum Pre Nursery Schools.

The Chief Minister had announced this in the budget presented in March. Now the officials have started preparing a detailed proposal for this. In the first phase, a meeting of the officials of the Social Justice and Empowerment Department and the Education Department has been held. Soon the proposal will be finalized by holding a second meeting.
