Bilaspur: A painful road accident took place last night near Nauni in Bilaspur, Himachal Pradesh. The truck driver died on the spot in a fierce collision between a truck and a tipper. The tipper driver was seriously injured in this accident. The injured is undergoing treatment at AIIMS hospital.
The deceased has been identified as Gagan Thakur (31 years), resident of Kharsi Bilaspur, while the injured tipper driver Vipin Kumar Panjel is a resident of Namhol Bilaspur. This accident occurred around 1 o’clock on Friday night.
According to the information, the truck was going from Bilaspur towards Kiratpur, while the tipper was going towards Dadlaghat side. During this, there was a strong collision between the two near Nauni. Due to this, both the vehicles were badly damaged.
After the accident, the drivers passing by the spot informed the police and with the help of ambulance, the injured tipper driver was taken to the hospital.
Postmortem of the dead body is being done
The police has taken the dead body of the truck driver into custody and the postmortem of the dead body is being done. The body will be handed over to the family members after some time.
In the initial investigation, high speed is being considered the cause of the accident. The police has registered a case and started a detailed investigation of the incident.
