Along with the private bus operators of the state, HRTC has also sent a proposal to the government to increase the bus fare. In such a situation, whether the fare should be increased or not. A decision on this can be taken in the cabinet today. However, Himachal is said to have the highest bus fare in the country.

Decision to close school-colleges

The cabinet may also decide on closing down schools and colleges. Secondary schools with less than 20 student enrollment and colleges with less than 100 students can be closed in the state. Sources reveal that in the case of colleges, the government can also reduce the condition of number of students from 100 to 75.

Budget announcements will be approved

The announcements made by the Chief Minister in the budget speech for 2025-26 can also be brought for approval in the cabinet meeting, as cabinet approval is mandatory for budget announcements.

Government may approve compassionate employment

The cabinet may also approve the one-time filling of pending cases of compassionate jobs. This issue has been raised for a long time. The issue of not getting jobs to the dependents of deceased employees was also raised in the assembly budget session. Therefore, the government may today allow the one-time filling of about 1800 posts from the compassionate quota.
