Shimla, June 28: Today (Saturday) the cabinet meeting will begin in Himachal Secretariat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu in a short while. Recruitments in various departments may get approval in this. The cabinet may discuss the devastation caused by cloudburst in Kullu and Khaniyara of Dharamshala. In this the government may take a decision regarding the relief and rehabilitation of the disaster affected people.
Changes in the power policy can be discussed in the cabinet. Subsidy for setting up solar projects can be increased. The allocation of projects of less than 25 MW pending in the state for many years can be approved. The government can relax the strict conditions imposed for the allocation of power projects.
Rationalization of posts of engineers in electricity board is possible
A decision on rationalization of posts of engineers in the state electricity board is also likely in the cabinet today. The cabinet sub-committee has suggested abolishing some posts of engineers to cut down expenses. A decision may be taken after discussion on this in the cabinet today.
Minimum price for apple purchase may be fixed
In the cabinet meeting, the minimum support price of apple can be decided under the Mandi Mediation Scheme (MIS) for the season. Usually, the state government buys apples from the orchardists under MIS through Himfed and HPMC. But this time, the responsibility of apple purchase is to be given to HPMC only. For this, the price of apple purchase is to be decided in the cabinet.
