The court passed orders to hand over the case to the CBI on the petition of Vimal Negi's wife.

Himachal High Court has passed orders to hand over the investigation of the Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation Chief Engineer Vimal Negi’s death case to the CBI. This decision was given by the court of Judge Ajay Mohan Goyal on Friday morning. The court ordered that no Himachal cadre officer will be included in the CBI investigation team. The court passed orders to hand over the case to the CBI on the petition of Vimal Negi’s wife.

Vimal Negi’s wife had filed a petition in the High Court that her husband had died under mysterious circumstances, and an impartial investigation was not being done. The family had raised questions that Vimal Negi had been missing since March 10. His body was found on March 18, and the post-mortem was done on the 19th. The SIT did not investigate where Vimal was from March 10 to March 13-14.

The court put the Shimla Police in the dock in the case and said that the Shimla Police did not reach any conclusion even after two months. In the report of ACS and DGP, serious allegations have been made against the then Managing Director of Power Corporation Harikesh Meena and the suspended Director, Deshraj.

Let us tell you, in the High Court on Wednesday, after hearing all the parties in this case, the court of Justice Ajay Mohan Goyal commented that due to the mutual conflict between the DGP and the SP, justice is getting delayed in the case. The court said that justice should not only be done, but it should also be seen to be done in practicality.

After hearing the arguments of all the parties on the investigation report of DGP, SP Shimla and ACS Omkar Sharma, the court had reserved the decision on handing over the investigation of the case to the CBI. While giving the verdict today, the case was ordered to be handed over to the CBI.
