Shimla: In Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, a person tragically passed away after choking on a chicken bone while eating alone at home. Despite being rushed to the hospital, the individual did not survive.
The police confirmed the incident and the body was released to the family after a postmortem examination. The incident occurred in the Pangi Valley of the Chamba district.
SI Narendra Kumar, in-charge of Pangi police station, reported that Bhag Chand, son of Kheti Ram and a resident of Kilwas Thalli village in Churah tehsil, passed away on Tuesday. He worked as a tailor in the Kilad area of Pangi Valley headquarters.
On Tuesday afternoon, Bhag Chand went home from his shop to eat food. There was no one at home at that time, as his family members had gone out somewhere for some work. When the family returned home, they found Bhag Chand lying unconscious on the ground.
They tried to revive him by sprinkling water on his face, but he did not wake up. The family rushed him to Kilad Hospital, where the doctor pronounced him dead. The doctor then called the police and informed them about the situation. When the police arrived, they examined the body and requested a postmortem. The postmortem revealed that a chicken bone was stuck in Bhag Chand’s throat, which caused his death.
The police then handed over the body to the family. Bhag Chand had lived in a rented house in Pangi with his wife and two sons for 15 years. One of his sons is a driver and the other stays at home. On the day of the incident, both sons were out of the house, and his wife was also not at home as she was washing clothes at Pangi Hospital on contract.
