New Delhi: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu met Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda in New Delhi last evening.

During the meeting, the Chief Minister apprised JP Nadda about the State Government’s commitment to improve the infrastructure and medical facilities in the health sector in the State. The Chief Minister stressed the need for ‘state of the art’ medical technology in the State hospitals so that the people of the State need not go outside the State for modern medical facilities.

He demanded funds to complete the work of the under-construction Nahan, Chamba, and Hamirpur Medical Colleges.

He said that quality medical education is being ensured to the students in the State. He also urged for support to the trainees completing nursing training in the State so that these trainees can get opportunities to provide services abroad also.

CM Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu also urged the Union Health Minister to provide additional financial assistance to ensure early completion of the construction of this park in view of the important role of the Bulk Drug Park in the economy of the state and availability of employment and self-employment opportunities for the local people.

The Union Minister assured the Chief Minister of ensuring all possible assistance from the Centre. Chief Parliamentary Secretary Sunder Singh Thakur, Principal Secretary Finance Devesh Kumar, Secretary to Chief Minister Rakesh Kanwar, Resident Commissioner Meera Mohanty and Private Secretary to Union Health and Family Welfare Minister Ashutosh Garg were also present in the meeting.
