Himachal: Election campaigning to end today; Dry day declared till June 1, polling parties will leave for remote areas

Therefore, after 6 pm and tomorrow, no candidate will be able to campaign with a crowd or loud speaker.

After the election noise stops, the candidates will definitely be able to campaign one to one. But during this time, crowd gathering will not be allowed. In Himachal, all liquor shops and beer-bars, hotels and dhabas serving liquor will also have to be closed from 6 pm today.

The Election Department has given instructions to take strict action against liquor sellers who disobey these orders. Dry day will remain in the state till June 1 and liquor shops will remain closed on the day of counting i.e. June 4. Permission to open liquor shops will be given after the voting is completed.

Some polling parties will leave today

Some polling parties will be sent today for remote areas, while the remaining polling parties will be sent tomorrow morning. All polling parties will prepare their respective polling booths for voting by tomorrow evening, so that voting can start on time the day after tomorrow morning.

Section 144 imposed, more than 5 people will not gather

Section 144 has been implemented across the state with the aim of conducting the elections in a free, fair and peaceful manner and maintaining peace. That is, more than 5 people will not be able to gather. This will be allowed only within 100 meters of the polling station, and that too only to the people standing in lines for voting and the personnel deployed in law and order.

Except the security personnel deployed on election duty, other people will be banned from carrying weapons, banners, stickers etc. within 100 meters of the polling station. Apart from the officers and police personnel deployed on election duty, no person will be allowed to carry or use a phone, wireless phone or any device that can amplify sound within a radius of 100 meters of the polling station or within the polling station.

Special paid holiday declared on June 1

Chief Electoral Officer Manish Garg directed that a special paid holiday has been declared on the day of voting. No employer can refuse to give leave to his employees on this day. Action will be taken against those who do so. June 1 will be a paid holiday in the entire state. That is, on this day, daily wage earners and employees working in the private sector including government employees will also get salary despite the holiday.
