Shimla: The public has accused the NHAI officials, who accused Himachal’s Panchayati Raj Minister Aniruddh Singh of assault, of misbehaving. Chamyana Panchayat’s ward member Nihal Thakur has complained to the Dhali police station regarding this. The police have registered a case on Nihal’s complaint.
The Panchayat member, in his complaint to the police, alleged that the houses of many people in Bhattakufar’s Mathu Colony are in danger due to NHAI’s negligence. Ranjana Verma’s five-storey house has collapsed. When the local people met NHAI manager Achal Jindal on June 30 in this matter, he behaved indecently.
Manager and site engineer accused of using indecent language
Apart from Achal Jindal, the complainant has also accused the NHAI site engineer of indecent behavior and assault. The police have started investigating it.
Five-storey building collapsed
Let us tell you that a five-storey building collapsed on June 30 in Mathu Colony, adjoining Bhattakufar. 8 to 10 houses nearby are also in danger. Three to four houses have been evacuated. Local people allege that due to the negligence of NHAI, one house has collapsed, and other houses are in danger. Despite repeated complaints by the local people, the work was not stopped, and neither was a safety wall erected.
First FIR on minister, now FIR on officer
According to the Panchayat member, on June 30, when he tried to talk to the NHAI manager about the collapsed and unsafe houses, he was beaten up, and abusive language was used. On Monday night at 10.53 pm, a case was registered against Himachal Minister Anirudh Singh on the complaint of the NHAI manager. The NHAI manager has accused the minister of attacking him on the head with a water pot. Now a case has been registered against the NHAI manager as well.
