Himachal gets health grant of Rs 101.18 crore from the Center

It will be spent on reproductive and child health and strengthening the health system.

The Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has released a budget of Rs 101.18 crore to Himachal Pradesh for the financial year 2025-26. This financial assistance has been released as the first installment of the current financial year. This amount will be used as a flexible fund for the National Health Program and Urban Health Mission under the National Health Mission. It will be spent on reproductive and child health and strengthening the health system.

In this regard, Malay Kumar Haldar, Under Secretary, Ministry of Health, has sent the relevant letter to the Secretary Finance and Health to approve this amount. The approval order issued by the Finance Department on May 22 states that these funds will be used for the set purposes and the financial management systems of NHM will be followed.

Himachal Pradesh and the Union Territory will have to ensure that its 40 percent / 10 percent share is deposited in the respective accounts based on the amount released by the Government of India. The approval also emphasised that no change can be made in the allocation or re-appropriation between various components and activities without the explicit approval of the State and Union Territory Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
