Shimla, June 22: There is a possibility of rain in Himachal Pradesh for the next 5 days. Orange alert for heavy rain has been issued in 3 districts of the state today. This warning has been given to Una, Kangra and Sirmaur districts. Yellow alert has been issued today in Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Chamba, Mandi and Solan districts.
During the last 24 hours, many areas received good rainfall. Kangra received the highest rainfall of 37 mm. Kasauli received 30 mm rainfall, Jot 21 mm, Mandi 9.8 mm, Karsog 8.1 mm, Pachhad 5.2 mm, Jogendranagar 4 mm, Shimla 1.6 mm and Kufri received 1 mm rainfall.
Tomorrow i.e. on 24th June, there is an orange alert for heavy rain in Chamba, Kangra, Solan and Sirmaur districts. There is a yellow alert in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Shimla and Mandi.
Alert in 8 districts on 25 June
Western Disturbance will be more active on 25th June. Heavy rain is forecast in 8 districts on this day. The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for heavy rain in Una, Bilaspur, Hamirpur, Kangra, Mandi, Solan, Shimla and Sirmaur districts. Heavy rain is expected in Chamba, Mandi, Solan and Sirmaur districts on 26th June.
The Meteorological Department has advised people not to go to rivers, streams and landslide prone areas, especially in the districts where Orange Alert warning has been issued.
Monsoon can cover the entire state today
Monsoon has entered many parts of Himachal on 20th June. Monsoon can cover the entire state by this evening. But after entry, the speed of monsoon seems to be slow. Heavy rain is being seen only in some areas.
The temperature dropped drastically after the rain
The average temperature of the state has dropped 2.3 degrees Celsius below normal due to intermittent rains since the entry of monsoon. The temperature of Kangra has dropped the most by 8.8 degrees and has now settled at 30.8 degrees.
The temperature of Chamba dropped by 7 degrees from normal to 30.7 degrees, Mandi’s mercury dropped by 4.3 degrees to 30.4 degrees, Dharamsala dropped by 3.3 degrees to 27 degrees, Shimla dropped by 1.5 degrees to 23.2 degrees and Manali’s maximum temperature dropped by 2 degrees to 25.4 degrees.
