There is some relief news for the traffic police personnel who serve in the scorching heat. Traffic personnel will now wear AC helmets and perform their duties. The police department has started its trial in the district from Monday. With the availability of AC helmets, even the scorching heat will not be able to affect the efficiency of the traffic policemen.
The temperature in the district is currently between 35 to 40 degrees. This effort has been made by the department so that the efficiency of the traffic policemen is not affected in the heat. Superintendent of Police Sandeep Dhawal gave AC helmets to some traffic personnel on Monday. These have a small AC, which runs on battery. After applying it, one feels cool in the head. The temperature decreases by 10 to 15 degrees. The weight of the helmet is 200 to 250 grams.
There is a sheet attached to the front part of the helmet that protects the eyes from the sun. Superintendent of Police Sandeep Dhawal said that keeping in view the summer season at present, AC helmets are being trialed for the police personnel deployed for traffic control in the district. If the trial is successful, more such AC helmets will be ordered for traffic police personnel in the second phase.
Its main purpose is to provide relief from the scorching heat to the policemen deployed for traffic control so that they can do their duty regularly with concentration for a long time without any fatigue or discomfort. More AC helmets will be ordered for traffic police personnel.
