Shimla: Regarding the illegal mosque dispute in Himachal Pradesh’s capital Shimla, the state’s Urban Development Minister Vikramaditya Singh said, that action will be taken against any building that is built illegally. “Whether it is a mosque or not or any other buildings which have been built in the state illegally, action will be taken against all of them within the ambit of law”, said Vikramaditya.

Vikramaditya Singh said that Himachal is a peace-loving state and such issues should not be seen from a political point of view. He added that in such cases  action is needed from an administrative point of view. The Muslim community in Sanjauli and Mandi is ready to demolish illegal constructions themselves. In Mandi, the Muslim community has started demolishing the illegal wall built on the land of the Public Works Department.

The Urban Development Minister said, “Everything can be resolved by dialogue. He appealed to all the people to maintain mutual brotherhood.”

Vikramaditya said that Chief Minister Sukhwinder Sukhu himself has held an all-party meeting in this matter. In this, all the parties agreed that there should not be such an atmosphere in the state.

Since September 1, the atmosphere in the state has become tense due to illegal mosque construction. However, the atmosphere has calmed down after the Muslim community agreed to demolish the illegal construction in Shimla and Mandi. But protests are being held every day in other cities regarding this. Even today, protests were held in Sunni, Ghumarvi, Sundarnagar and Paonta Sahib.

Similarly, traders have also kept their shops closed from 9 am to 11 am across the state.
