The weather has changed in Himachal Pradesh. Heavy rain is falling in the capital Shimla and other parts. Shimla has been covered in thick fog since morning. Visibility is very low due to the fog. Due to this, drivers had to face a lot of difficulties in driving vehicles. On the other hand, the Kangra-Dharamshala road was closed due to a landslide near Chetdu due to heavy rain.
Vehicle damaged after landslide
The road remained closed from around 8:30 in the morning. Vehicles were sent to Kangra via the Sheela-Aura-Sarah road. On the other hand, the main road was completely blocked due to a landslide near Hatni ki Dhar in Jatog Cantonment area of Shimla. A vehicle also came under the grip of the landslide and was completely damaged.
On the other hand, the first rain has exposed the chaos in Shaheed Inder Singh Madhyamik Pathshala Pandoh. Students and teachers had to face problems due to rainwater filling the school premises. Due to rain, the school ground and entrance got submerged, making it difficult for the children to come and go.
Broken Boundary wall of school since 2023
Many students had to take off their shoes and walk through the water to reach the classroom. The condition of the school was the same during the rains of 2023. The broken boundary wall has not been repaired yet, due to which the ground was completely submerged in water. Local people say that this situation occurs every year at the beginning of the monsoon, but no permanent arrangement for drainage has been made so far. Parents have demanded that the administration to make proper arrangements for drainage and a boundary wall in the school premises as soon as possible.

According to the Meteorological Center Shimla, there is an orange-yellow alert for heavy rain in the state for seven days. According to the department, a yellow alert for heavy rain has been issued in many parts of the state on June 20, 21 and 24. While an orange alert has been issued for June 22, 23, 25 and 26. During the next 2-3 days, conditions are favorable for the advancement of the southwest monsoon in some parts of Himachal Pradesh.
Last night, Nahan recorded 84.7 mm rain, Pandoh 35.0 mm, Slapad 26.3 mm, Sarahan 20.5 mm, Paonta Sahib 19.8 mm, Jogindernagar 19.0 mm, Pachhad 17.2 mm, Rampur 15.6 mm, Gohar 15.0 mm, Katula 13.4 mm and Mandi recorded 8.2 mm rain.
