Himachal: Markets to remain closed in protest against Pahalgam attack

In Shimla, all shops in Mall Road, Lakkar Bazaar, Lower Bazaar as well as in all the suburbs of the city will open at 1 pm.

Markets in Himachal Pradesh will remain closed today in protest against the terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. Himachal Vyapar Mandal has called upon all traders to keep their shops closed till 11 am.

Meanwhile, markets in Shimla will remain closed till 1 pm. In Shimla, all shops in Mall Road, Lakkar Bazaar, Lower Bazaar as well as in all the suburbs of the city will open at 1 pm.

By closing the shops, traders are showing anger and solidarity against the terrorist attack. Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has also appealed to all traders to keep their shops open. VHP and Hindu organizations will also protest against the terrorist attack at many places today.

Let us tell you that protests are being held all over the country against the Pahalgam terrorist attack. Yesterday, people took to the streets in many cities of Himachal and protested and demanded action against the terrorists. Small children in schools are paying tribute to those killed in the terrorist attack by lighting candles.

Sumesh Sharma, President of Himachal Pradesh Vyapar Mandal, said that all the traders of the state will keep the shops closed till 11 o’clock. He said, strict action should be taken against those who carried out the terrorist incident, so that no one can muster the courage to do it again.
