Now in Himachal Pradesh, every year on Teachers’ Day, teachers who have made outstanding contributions in the field of technical education will also get state-level awards. Every year 10 teachers will be awarded. The state-level award scheme for teachers of the technical education sector has been notified in the gazette.
This scheme has been started on the instructions of Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu, which aims to honor the innovation, dedication, research and contribution of teachers in the overall development of students. The award will be given in six categories of technical education. In this, three best teachers of ITI, two for research excellence and innovation (degree college level), two for industry collaboration (ITI and polytechnic level) and one teacher each at polytechnic, engineering and pharmacy college level will be honored. As a reward, teachers will be given medals, Himachali caps, shawls, scarves, books, souvenirs, and certificates.
The award will be given to a teacher only once in his entire service period. Retired teachers and teachers under disciplinary action will not be eligible for it. Only those teachers who are in service till April 30 will be considered eligible for the award. The selection will be done on the basis of a multi-stage evaluation process. In the first stage, the expert committee will scrutinise the nominations, then the committee, headed by the Director of Technical Education will make recommendations. The final decision will be taken by the state level selection committee headed by the Secretary (Technical Education).
