60 players from Himachal left for National Ice Skating Championship

Himachal CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today flagged off a team of 60 players for the National Ice Skating Championship. The CM earlier spoke to all the players at Oak Over.

Shimla, June 23: Himachal CM Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu today flagged off a team of 60 players for the National Ice Skating Championship. The CM earlier spoke to all the players at Oak Over. The team will participate in various competitions in seven age groups to be held in Dehradun from June 25 to 28.

The CM wished the participants good luck for their excellent performance in the championship and also congratulated them on International Olympic Day. CM Sukhu said that the state government is promoting sports talent in the state. Various schemes have been started to encourage the players.

He said that the state government has significantly increased the prize money for medal winners of international competitions like Olympics, Paralympics and Asian Games. To encourage the players, the state government has also increased the diet money. Better travel facilities are also being provided.

Fares of AC 3-tier trains for travel up to 200km should be delayed: CM

CM Sukhu said, now players are being given AC three tier train fare for travel up to 200 km and economy class air fare for long distance. The aim of these facilities given to the players is to attract the youth towards sports. So that the young generation stays away from addiction and includes a healthy lifestyle in their daily routine.

On this occasion, District Shimla President of Himachal Pradesh Ice Skating Association Ikashvaku Jasta and District Vice President Yogesh Sihiya were also present.
