Shimla: Black sheep’s of Congress Party once again exposed in Himachal Pradesh Assembly during Rajyasabha election. Heavy cross-voting by Congress MLAs in the voting held on Tuesday for a Rajya Sabha seat from Himachal Pradesh. Due to Congress MLA’s Cross voting BJP Candidate Harsh Mahajan Has been Won the seat.
Both BJP Candidate Harsh Mahajan And Congress Candidate Abhishek Manu Shinghavi got 34-34 votes in the voting. After which BJP Candidate won Seat through lottery.
In Himachal, there 6 Congress and 3 independent MLAs cross-voting in favour of BJP. Among the Congress MLAs, the names of Rajendra Rana of Sujanpur, Sudhir Sharma of Dharamshala, Devendra Bhutto of Kutlehar, ID Lakhanpal of Badsar, Ravi Thakur of Lahaul-Spiti and Chaitanya Sharma of Gagret are coming up. All of them reached the assembly in the same vehicle in the morning before voting. As soon as he got down from the car outside the Assembly, BJP MLAs Bikram Thakur and Rakesh Jamwal met him.
After voting here, he left Shimla and is now not in contact with anyone. There is a stir in the Congress government regarding this. Three independent MLAs Ashish Sharma of Hamirpur, Hoshiar Singh of Dehra and KL Thakur of Nalagarh are also said to vote for BJP candidate Harsh Mahajan.
All these 9 MLAs are being given CRPF security. For this, 3 CRPF buses have reached Shimla. All 68 MLAs have cast their votes in the Rajya Sabha elections. When counting started, BJP protested. After which the counting has been stopped for the time being.
Jairam Thakur raised questions On MLA Bablu
Leader of Opposition from BJP Jairam Thakur raised questions on the vote of Sudarshan Bablu. He said that Chief Minister Sukhu brought Sudarshan Bablu from Hoshiarpur to Shimla in a government helicopter and the Chief Minister himself went to receive him in Shimla. This is a blatant violation of the election code of conduct.
