Himachal Pradesh Economic Survey 2024-25: Per capita income increased by 22,430

This shows an impressive growth rate of 10.2 percent for the financial year 2024-25, equivalent to 9.9 percent of the first revised estimate for the financial year 2023-24.

In the absence of the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri presented the Economic Survey 2024-25 report in the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly on Thursday. This report has been prepared by the Economic and Statistics Department of the State Government. According to this report, as per advance estimates, the Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Himachal Pradesh at current prices for the financial year 2024-25 is estimated to be Rs 2,32,185 crore, which was Rs 2,10,662 crore in the financial year 2023-24. This shows an impressive growth rate of 10.2 percent for the financial year 2024-25, equivalent to 9.9 percent of the first revised estimate for the financial year 2023-24.

Per capita income (PCI) at current prices for the financial year 2024-25 is estimated at 2,57,212 as compared to 2,34,782 in the financial year 2023-24, which shows an increase of 9.6 percent in the financial year 2024-25.

In this way, per capita income in the state has increased by Rs 22,430. According to the report, the per capita income of the state has increased from 87,721 in 2011-12 to 2,57,212 in 2024-25, which shows a compound annual growth rate of 8.6 percent as compared to 2011-12.

The GSDP at constant (2011-12) prices or real GSDP as of FY 2024-25 is estimated at Rs.1,46,553 crore as against Rs.1,37,320 crore in FY 2023-24 and shows a growth rate of 6.7% for FY 2024-25 as against 6.6% in FY 2023-24. On the basis of GSVA for FY 2024-25, the tertiary sector accounts for 45.3% of the state’s GSVA at current prices, followed by the secondary sector at 39.5% and the primary sector at 15.2%. GSVA from the primary sector as of FY 2024-25 is estimated at Rs.16,625 crore as against Rs.16,116 crore in FY 2023-24 at constant prices with a growth rate of 3.2%.
