Himachal: Students scoring low marks in Mathematics in the annual examinations of the Himachal Pradesh School Education Board, scheduled for March 2025, will receive passing results. The school education board has granted this relief to candidates transitioning from CBSE to the HP Board for the academic session 2024-25. However, in the subsequent academic session, no such relief will be provided.

During the 2024-25 academic session, many schools affiliated with the Himachal Pradesh School Education Board have enrolled several candidates from the CBSE system for the 11th and 12th grades. Many of these candidates have opted for Mathematics as a subject in these classes. Mathematics is taught at a basic level in CBSE, which is considered easier, while the curriculum in HP Board-affiliated schools is somewhat more challenging. Therefore, students transitioning from CBSE to HP Board-affiliated schools have been granted this concession, ensuring they will pass in their examination results.

In the next academic session of 2025-26, the education board will not provide this concession, and candidates coming from the CBSE to the HP Board will be required to pass Mathematics.

The board president has utilized the powers conferred under Section 19(3) of the Education Board Act of 1968 to provide this relief to candidates. This is a one-time concession.
