Travelling on the four-lane from Matour to Shimla has become expensive. Drivers will have to pay toll tax for the four-lane from Bhangwar to Kangra bypass from Thursday. Drivers passing through the toll barrier built at Ghata near Ranital will have to pay toll from Thursday. In this, there will be a facility for local people to make pass fees.
Toll rates have been fixed for different vehicles. However, the entire four-lane from Bhangwar to Kachiari is incomplete due to the bridge being built on the Riund Khad. Despite this, toll payment will start for the construction work from Bhangwar to Kangra bypass, which has been completed so far, of the four-lane project. Different rates have been fixed for vehicles to pass through the toll plaza. These fixed rates have been fixed for one-way travel, two-way travel (same day), monthly pass (on crossing the toll 50 times), commercial vehicles registered in the district.
Car, jeep, van will charge 25 rupees for one-way journey
For cars, jeeps, vans and light vehicles passing through the toll plaza, 25 rupees have been fixed for one-way journey, 35 rupees for return on the same day, 790 rupees for monthly pass for 50 passes, ten rupees for commercial vehicles registered in the district. 40, 55, 1275 and 20 rupees have been fixed for light commercial vehicles, light goods vehicles and mini buses.
For two axle buses and trucks, the toll has been fixed at Rs 80, 120, 2675 and 40, while for three axle commercial vehicles the toll has been fixed at Rs 90, 130, 2920 and 45, for heavy construction machinery and heavy vehicles with four to six axles the toll has been fixed at Rs 125, 190, 4195 and 65, and for oversized vehicles the toll has been fixed at Rs 155, 230, 5110 and 75.
On the other hand, NHAI Project Director (Four Lane) Vikram Singh Meena said that toll plaza will start functioning at Ghata from Thursday. The toll will be charged for the four lane that has been constructed till now.
